Protests in the Uptown district of Charlotte turned violent Wednesday evening, and a man was shot outside the Omni Hotel. Protesters and the police clashed Wednesday night in Charlotte, N.C. — the second night of violence following the fatal police shooting of Keith L. Scott, a 43-year-old black man. By evening, shelter-in-place orders had been lifted, and yellow crime scene tape sectioned off part of the street where the shooting had occurred.
